Care Instructions

Cleaning Your Helmet

  • Clean external painted surfaces and harnesses with a soft, damp cloth.

  • Gently wipe away dirt, then dry with a soft cloth.

  • Fabric and leather-covered areas can be gently cleaned using a soft brush.

  • Do not use petroleum products, solvents, benzene, thinners or harsh cleaning agents.

Cleaning the Headband

The removable headband padding is secured inside the helmet with micro hook and loop tape.

  • Gently pull from one corner to remove.

  • Hand wash or machine wash on a gentle cycle at 30°C.

  • Always place the headband inside a laundry bag when machine washing.

  • Dry flat and away from artificial heat sources.

  • Once dry, align the LeMieux logo and safety information with the mini window and press securely back into place.

Storage & Transportation

Store your helmet in its original packaging, a padded helmet bag or similar protective storage to help prevent bumps and abrasions.

  • Keep away from direct sunlight, particularly inside a closed vehicle.

  • Do not expose to temperatures above 50°C or below -20°C.

Helmet Fit

LeMieux Verv® and Vexa® helmets feature a 360° Wrap Fit System for a secure and adjustable fit.

Helmet Sizes:

  • Small: 52–55cm

  • Medium: 56–58cm

  • Large: 59–61cm

The helmet should fit closely and securely without being uncomfortable. It should cover as much of the forehead as possible without restricting your field of vision.

A correctly fitted helmet should not move from side to side or forwards and backwards without pulling the skin and scalp.

  • If the helmet moves freely, it may be too large.

  • If it feels constricting or painful, it may be too small.

  • Never purchase an oversized helmet for a child to “grow into”.

Adjusting the 360° Wrap Fit System

The adjustment wheel is located at the back of the helmet.

  • Turn clockwise to tighten.

  • Turn anticlockwise to loosen.

  • Adjust until there is even tension around the front, sides and back of the head.

  • To remove the helmet, pull the control wheel outward or turn anticlockwise to release the fit system.

Always ensure the harness is correctly adjusted and securely fastened before riding. Never ride with the chinstrap unfastened.

Extra Fit Padding

The helmet includes 5mm and 10mm padded rings to help customise the fit.

Remove the crown padding using the rear tab, then add the required padding rings using the micro hook and loop attachment points. Ensure the padding sits evenly around the head before use.

Interchangeable Top Panel

The magnetic top panel can be removed and changed to customise your helmet.

To remove:

  • Gently lift the rear of the panel to release it.

To refit:

  • Slot the front edge into the badge area at the helmet brim.

  • Press the panel down until the magnets engage.

  • Check that the panel sits completely flush before riding.

Important: The panel is designed to detach during an impact. A misaligned or incorrectly fitted panel may reduce protection. Replace both the helmet and panel following an impact.

Magnetic Peaks & Brim Covers

For Narrow Peaks, Wide Peaks and Brim Covers:

  • Align the accessory with the front brim.

  • Match all five connection points with the corresponding helmet slots.

  • Press firmly into position.

  • Check that it sits completely flush.

For the Wide Peak, also press the side wings into the helmet grooves until you hear a click on each side.

Service Life & Replacement

Replace your LeMieux riding helmet after approximately 3–5 years of careful use, or sooner if it no longer fits correctly.

Immediately replace the helmet if it has:

  • Been dropped.

  • Suffered an impact.

  • Been involved in a riding accident.

  • Sustained visible or suspected damage.

Impact damage is not always visible. A helmet that has suffered an impact should therefore be discarded even if it appears undamaged.
